My 3 month trial subscription to XM Premier is coming to an end. I actually use the traffic alerts more than the music, so I'd like to get all three (music, traffic and weather). When I called, I'm getting various prices from $180/yr to $250/yr. Anyone get a good deal for all three? I'm a little nervous about giving XM my CC number as I've heard on onther sites that its very hard to cancel and they bill you despite cancelling (I'm sure most is not true, but there has to be some truth to what people are saying). So what are you guys paying for all three services?
Thanks

Do some more searching about XM prices.. if you let the subscription lapse they will call or email you trying to get you back as a customer. Most people are able to get a 6 month package for around 25 bucks or so (if I remember correctly). That is what I plan to do as well in the near future!

^ good advice both of you. I also went for the gift card after reading about the billing issues. You can talk to them about the pricing. I actually got a cheaper price after I quoted a friend who got a lower price than me a few months ago. Shady if you ask me.

The XM/Sirius billing has to be one of the most bizzare business practices out there. It totally depends on which CSR you talk with whether they'll offer you a good deal immediately or make you go through the charade of cancelling, calling you in 2 weeks, and offering you a "we missed you" deal. It's absurd. As with most things, the longer you're willing to commit to, the better price per month you can get. They also have huge issues with the cancellation piece as I've cancelled my Audi's subscription over a year ago and still receive Sirius. I've also had the opposite issue where they continued to bill us for several months after cancelling another subscription we had and having to fight with them to get reimbursed. It's a wonder they're still in business.

I received a call from XM pretty much within 2 weeks of receiving the JX, I declined to commit to anything they had offered me since I rarely used the XM radio in my other vehicle. Now I find that all I listen to is XM. I find the traffic to be useless as it only reports 3 major highways/freeways in my area and the weather is non-existent; apparently it is not available in my region.

I could not renew online using a Sirius gift card without giving my credit card info prior to submitting. Contacted customer service to confirm. I was told the renewal for the trial term will be funded by my submitted gift card and I can cancel my credit card info after the renewal occurs on the 17the of August. I'll let you know how that goes.......
Use a temporary credit card no. for online transactions with a definite expiry date?

My trial ended a few days ago, but they did not shut me off. I received an invoice where they were charging me $220 or so for another year. I called them and after speaking to 3 different reps in different departments, I was able to get a full year of XM Select with NavTraffic and NavWeather for $122. I paid with credit card and they said it was not saved at the end of the year they will send another invoice for renewal and I could call at that time for another promotional rate.

I'm so sick and tired of that company. If another company could provide the XM radio, Nav Traffic and Weather, I'd switch in a heart beat. These operators use a script and don't deviate from it. When there is an issue, they always have to go to their supervisor. I'm glad they gave you a break on the fees. I hope everyone that has issues will hammer them hard until they get something for their efforts.
