5% all around, 20% up front. I have this on my current Jeep and love it.

I used to have 5% up front but the Texas cops kept thinking I was up to no good. Every time I was pulled over they waited for backup, then all cops exited the cars with hands on guns. Loved the tint, hated the cop response.

^^ all depends on the quality of materials used and the workmanship. We've all seen some bad tint jobs out there! You can buy some pretty cheap stuff, which will do the job for the short term, but over time you'll notice color changes and/or peeling. There are a variety of tints on the market, ceramic, metalic / non-metalic, carbon tint films, all of which have their pros & cons. I've even also read that some tints even interfere with cell coverage. So needless to say, do your research and get a quality job done.

If i can make a recommendation, find an installer that offers huper optik tints: http://www.huperoptik.com/en/automotive/ By far, one of the best offerings out there!

The JX already comes with privacy glass on back windows, so they're tinted already.
I still applied 20% on front windows, and 20% on top of the privacy glass on the back... the result turns out to make the back windows very close to LIMO tint (5%?) and somehow the front is very dark too even with 20%. So overall, my car looks totally tinted all around and not too much difference between my front and the back windows.... just wish that our local cops wouldn't notice it. :p

Privacy Glass = darker glass typically against rear windows, provides no UV protection
Aftermarket 'Tint' = darkens any window of choice and provides UV protection. The darker (lower percentage), the more UV protection.

As previously stated, get a quality brand and installer. Cheaper is NOT better, something like Formula One tint is way better...choice of regular versus Ceramic, etc. Also, you will definitely need to factor in glass that have built in radio antennas.

I have done 50% windshield for some kind of UV protection against dash, 35% all around including the privacy glass, and 35% against the moonroof.

Good luck!
