In my last post regarding our cross country trip, I didn't elaborate on the Snow Mode. I didn't have a lot of heavy snow to drive through to really test it out, but did use it in Rapid City heading to Mt. Rushmore. I did find it worked better than expected. Although I'd like to lock in 4 wheel drive like in my former Armada, I like the ability for the transmission to kick in when needed to AWD, but most of all, having the push back on the gas peddle in Snow Mode does help keep you from over throttling and spinning out.

Can anyone else that has driven in snow with the JX or QX have any experience with Snow Mode in heavier snow? I'd be curious to hear from them. I'm also curious to hear if anyone has had to put chains on and if so, did you chain up the back, front or both? I do have chains that are low profile and fit the 20" tires well, but don't know how the car would perform in the hill country. Any feedback would be appreciated.
