If anyone knows the answers to these questions.

1. How do you increase the volumes of the nanny beeps (like the Lane Departure warning, etc).

2. Can you connect a hard drive to the usb port? Are there restrictions on the number of files, size of hard drive, etc?

3. Can you change the sensitivity of the Distance Control Assist? I feel its braking too fast too hard sometimes especially in the inner roads. I know how to turn it off, I couldn't find how to change the distance control. I thought I had read somewhere that it is possible to adjust the settings.

4. On the first evening of owning it. I noticed a tiny LED light shining on to the center console from the top. The bulb was located on the opposite (right) side of the SOS button. I couldn't find a switch for it. Is that an automatic light?

5. Will the car auto lock if you walk away with the key in your pocket and forget to lock it (by touching the handle lock button).

6. What are the "I" and "0" buttons on the rear view mirror? Are they on/off buttons for the homelink transmitter or are they on/off buttons for auto dimming. Or are they something else?

7. There are two buttons on the liftgate (outside). A round one and a rectangular one. I find the manual a bit confusing. Correct me if I'm wrong. The rectangular switch works when the car is unlocked. And the round switch works when the car is locked?

Only know some answers
3. Yes, on the wheel or setting menu.
5. No! you have to push either bottons.
6. It is the swith for auto dimming during night driving. I personally think it is unnecessary, who will turn it off?
7. Your answer is correct. For the round button to work, you have to have the intelligent key with you.

2. Haven't tried it but the system shouldn't be able to see a difference between a USB HDD and a thumb drive. Only caveat I would see with a HDD is impact of bumps etc.

Anyone know of a way to illuminate the homelink buttons on the rear view mirror?

I tried to figure out #1 as well but can't find a way to increase the volume of the beeps either. YOu can change the brightness of the indicator light bit can not figure a way to increase the beep for the bsw. It needs to be louder so if anyone figures this out let me know.

7. I think the round button on the lift gate is like the lock button on your front door handle. Locks and unlocks the car when you have the key fob with you.

5. There is an autolock feature from outside that relocks the doors after a short while if you unlock them, but DO NOT open the doors at all. Once a door is opened, then there is no autolock and you must lock with keyfob or door handle button.

2. I just bought Divx converter to convert some of my video files into divx. I still can't play from my hard drive. I've been able to play movies and music from thumb drives formatted to FAT32.

3. I still haven't been able to change the distance in the Distance Control Assist.
The owner's manual tells me there is an option in the Vehicle Information Display. I don't have the third option under Driver Assistance > Forward > I'll have to go ask my dealer or email Infiniti.

Windows can only format FAT32 partitions up to 32gb but OSX can do up to 2 TB - havent gotten around to it yet but I plan to use a 1 TB USB HDD as second source for the rear-seat screens.

Just wondering what format you found to work best for video on the JX via USB. I have tried several conversion formats but cannot get the video to fill the rear screens. I am using Aiseesoft and it has endless options and has worked perfect under all my other uses. I would have hoped the car would have a fill or stretch feature but it does not...that I have found. I have tried converting to standard DVD resolution and to the full rear screen resolution but I wonder if there is just not enough data throughput via the USB interface to fill the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paulm, I eventually bought an iPod 160gb and the composite cable from Amazon Basics. Use it through the USB for all my music and the video inputs for videos. I found the method of using thumb drives depending too much on luck and experimentation.
