YOKOHAMA, Japan (May 28, 2012) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for April 2012.

1. Production
Nissan's global production in April increased 49.0% year-on-year to 369,522 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April.

Production in Japan increased 94.0% year-on-year to 85,734 units, due to a rebound in production after the impact of the earthquake in Japan last year, in addition to increased exports of Juke and increased demand for Serena, which qualifies for the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Production outside of Japan increased 39.2% year-on-year to 283,788 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April.

In the U.S., production increased 83.4% year-on-year to 54,480 units, mainly due to increased demand for Altima and the new Infiniti JX.

In Mexico, production increased 57.4% year-on-year to 41,367 units, due to increased demand for Versa and March.

In the U.K., production decreased 5.0% year-on-year to 27,375 units.

In Spain, production increased 15.7% year-on-year to 11,566 units, mainly due to increased demand for Navara.

In China, production increased 42.7% year-on-year to 111,621 units, due to increased demand for Tiida, Qashqai and Sunny, marking an all-time record for the month of April.

Production in other regions increased 21.4.% year-on-year to 37,379 units, mainly due to increased demand for Sunny in India and Almera in Thailand.

2. Sales
Global sales increased 13.6% year-on-year to 364,173 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 39,413 units in Japan, up 63.8% year-on-year, due to a rebound in sales after the impact of the earthquake in Japan last year, and increased demand for models which qualify for the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

In Japan, vehicle registrations in April increased 51.6% year-on-year to 26,389 units, mainly due to increased demand for Serena and Note, which qualify for the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Mini-vehicle sales in Japan increased 95.6% year-on-year to 13,024 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April. The strong sales result is mainly due to strong sales of Moco and Roox, which qualify for the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Sales outside of Japan increased 9.5% year-on-year to 324,760 units, marking an all-time record for the month of April.

Sales in the U.S. decreased 0.3% year-on-year to 71,329 units, despite increased demand for the new Infiniti JX, which went on sale in April.

In Europe, sales decreased 8.8% year-on-year to 49,078 units, despite strong sales in Russia.

In China, sales increased 18.3% year-on-year to 112,365 units, due to increased demand for Tiida, Sunny and Qashqai, marking an all-time record for the month of April.

Sales in other regions increased 27.5% year-on-year to 66,509 units, mainly due to increased demand in Brazil, India, Indonesia and Thailand.

3. Japan Exports
Nissan's exports in March increased 259.7% year-on-year to 52,660 units.

Exports to North America increased 377.0% year-on-year to 32,565 units, mainly due to a rebound in production after the impact of the earthquake in Japan last year and increased demand for Rogue and Juke.

Exports to Europe increased 22.6% year-on-year to 5,892 units.
