MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 1, 2012 /CNW/ - Nissan Canada Inc. (NCI) today reported May sales of 9,204 units, an increase of 36.9 per cent over May 2011 and tracking up 15.3 per cent calendar year-to-date. Led by sales of the all-new JX, Infiniti recorded its fifth straight month of growth with 831 units sold, up 76.8 per cent. Nissan sales totalled 8,373 this month, a year-over-year increase of 33.9 per cent.

The Nissan JUKE recorded its best sales month ever with 555 units, up 222.7 per cent over last May. Nissan Altima was the top seller in the Nissan line-up with 1,907 units sold, tracking up 44.2 per cent calendar year-to-date. Nissan Versa and Rogue followed with sales of 1,432 and 1,378 units, respectively, while sales of Maxima and Murano jumped 65.0 and 56.8 per cent, respectively (325 and 574 units). The Nissan Titan and Armada recorded best-ever May sales with 286 and 65 units, respectively.

With its arrival in dealerships just over a month ago, the JX luxury crossover was the top seller in the Infiniti line-up in May with 398 units, followed by the G line-up with 220. Sales of the QX56 were up 44.4 per cent this month, with the FX and EX up 7.4 and 4.2 per cent, respectively.

"Our double-digit growth is a testament to the strength of both the Nissan and Infiniti line-ups," said Allen Childs, President of Nissan Canada Inc. "The addition of the all-new Infiniti JX is just the beginning as we ramp up for an exciting year of new models across both brands."
