Hi Everyone

I recently bought a JX and my unit came with Nissan Pathfinder kick plates on the right passenger side door instead of "Infiniti". All other 3 kick plates say Infiniti as they should. I know that both models are manufactured from the same place in TN but this is unacceptable considering it's a luxury brand. Right now, my JX is still at the dealership... they promised to replace the kick plates and offered me all weather floor mats for free. The brand new car also came with minor scratches in the bumper and a paint chip on the driver side they said they will fix within the week. All in all, I'm not having a great experience with the brand. I seriously feel like my JX was built on a Friday at exactly 5:20 PM when everyone is just about to clock out. Has anyone experienced the same issues or maybe other parts not matching? Any info would be great.

p.s. - the good thing is the dealership offered a G37 loaner while my JX is being fixed.

Congratulations on your purchase, and hopefully, the idiot that put the wrong name plate on will get a spanking. They can tell who installed each component. It sounds like you have a good dealership and it is nice to get those loaner cars. Either you'll want to consider another Infiniti down the road, or you will really appreciate your JX that much more. We've had several loaners from our dealership since we purchased our JX and loved each one, but do have to say, the JX spoiled us. In fact, the two girls we take care of once in awhile complained that there weren't "butt warmers" in the loaners and they didn't like the driveshaft hump either. If they are happy, then we are happy.

Please keep us posted on your experiences with your new JX. There is a lot of good information on this site, and probably not much that hasn't been discussed (although you have a first...Pathfinder name plate...). Enjoy!

Hmmm... Are there a total of 4 kick plates? Mine only came with 2 Infiniti kick plates in the front (driver side and passenger side). Do the rear doors have illuminated Infiniti kick plates as well?

There are kick plates in the rear, but they are smaller and don't have any illuminated logos.

I feel for dcmo, but I have to say, I'm pretty amused that this happened and made it all the way to the dealer. I'll be sure to check the kick plates on all JX's for a while.

BTW, did you take a picture? This thread needs a pic.

Why didn't the dealership simply pull them off during the arrival-inspection, before the customer arrived to get the vehicle?

dcmo mentions that "all other 3 kick plates say Infiniti..." Do the smaller rear ones say Infiniti on them, but are not illuminated? Mine are blank...

Hi JXtasy yes the one on the right has infiniti as well. I've seen a few on the showroom that doesn't say Infiniti on the back kick plates. Im not sure why they're not consistent. I'll post a pic of the kick plates in question soon as I get a chance.

So does that mean there are JX's out there with REAR illuminated kick plates with "Infiniti" on them? Again, the reason I ask is because both my rear kick plates are blank -- neither illuminated nor with "Infiniti" on it...

Because they never noticed. It's not something a dealership would even think to inspect. And remember that in many cases, the guys doing the unwrapping/detailing of new cars don't speak much English. Their job is to make sure all the major equipment is there (headphones, license plate mount, etc.), not to look over every minor detail that shouldn't ever be an issue.

Ahh... yes, built with UNION pride... Hope the person gets fired. This is unacceptable and embarrassing to the union folks who do bust their [email protected]#@ and get a bad rap. The union should take care of this problem directly.
