Does anyone know how to copy music to the hard drive (Music Box)? I see some references in the owner's manual, but they are limited and unclear. If you have the nav, does that take the space that would be used to download music.

Confused.

@Wheeling Agreed. I had a 2009 FX and had ripped many CDs to the drive. Just picked up my JX late last night. Will be exploring the whole USB route. Does anybody know what type of Audio / Video files are supported on JX? Will the iPad plugged into USB allow to play iTunes movies?

Why do you say the manual is wrong? Have you tried to load from a playing CD into Music Box? The Music Box will not be available as a source option until it has content in it....this is the way I read how the device works.

Also it seems that content can only be loaded from original CD's (playing).

On my test drive I hooked up an Ipod and it played seamlessly. On my wifes toyota, there is always a 3-5 second delay between pressing the button and something actually happening on the Ipod. On the JX it is immediate.

Wheeling I must apologize...

Got in vehicle last night and and tried to record purchased CD's and I could not get all of the menu items shown on the owner's manual page 4-81 to display as stated. Record to Music Box, Automatic Recording, and Recording Quality do not display with the other options.

I'm sure the ipod route is a better way to go anyway, but still can't believe that that a company like Infiniti would publish this in a brand new manual, for a brand new vehicle. I'm hoping at this point that I am either doing something wrong, or it is merely a firmware upgrade by them to get it to work for those who want it.

What really makes me angry is this is the second consective vehicle I have purchased with a desired feature listed in the owners manual yet absent from the car. Last time it was for my Pontiac G8 bluetooth system.

Karlf, apology not necessary, we are all here trying ot help each other. I specifically asked an Infiniti rep and he told me there is no Music Box. Infiniti never said in their publication and propaganda that the JX has the music box. They won't forget to mention it if it has it, cause it is a good feature to have. The namual for the navigation system is not just for JX, and the JX manual mentioning the music box is indeed a mistake, in my opinion, copied from other infiniti vehicles. May be next model year!

I'm trying to escalate this through Infiniti. This is the second time this has happened to me and it is not right. I would have a hard time believeing that this is not a simple software change as all of the hardware is there.

The whole car purchasing experience seems like this to me. You get glossy pictures and videos on the manufacturer's website. Only to realize that it comes in combinations and packages you don't need.
Then you get bait and switch from the dealer with their inventory.
And to top it all off, there is the haggling over price.
Probably one of the worst ways to buy something.

I asked the question, if the tech packages included the driver assistance features, to 2 dealers and the corporate cust service. All of them came back saying the driver assistance features are not available in the tech. At that time the the website was also confusing. This just shows no one has a clue what goes on where.

Tach package includes all features in the driver assistant package, plus lane departure warning and prevension, and blind spot intervantion. The infiniti website is very clear on this.
A month and half ago, it wasn't.
I still have the email from "mark[email protected]". This was their reply "The Technology Package does not include the features of the Driver Assistance Package".

I wouldn't be surprised if they had the musicbox feature planned and somewhere along the line someone made the decision to not include it in the software.
