2013 Infiniti JX - Back-Up Collision Intervention (BCI)

The Back-Up Collision Intervention (BCI) system can help alert the driver of approaching vehicles or rear objects when the driver is backing out of a parking space. It is always on unless disabled with this button. However, the next time the vehicle is shifted to reverse, the BCI system will again be on.

The BCI system uses radar sensors installed on both sides near the rear bumper to detect an approaching vehicle and sonar sensors to detect objects in the rear.

The BCI system operates when the shift position is in R (Reverse) and the vehicle speed is less than approximately 5 MPH.

When the vehicle is driving in reverse, if the system detects a vehicle approaching from the side or an object in the rear, it provides visual and audible warnings, and applies the brake for a moment.

After the automatic brake application, the driver must continue to depress the brake pedal to maintain brake pressure. If the driver's foot is on the accelerator pedal, the system will push the accelerator upward before applying the brake. If you continue to press the accelerator, the system will not engage the brakes.

2013 Infiniti JX - Theater Package (if so equipped)

If your vehicle is equipped with the Infiniti Theatre package with the Dual Head Restraint DVD System, you can enjoy watching video files from either a DVD or CD providing images and sound from both the front and rear display screens.

Using compatible auxiliary jacks, you and your passengers can also play video games, camcorders, or portable video players. For optimum diversity, the front display and the rear displays can use independent video and audio sources. Use the remote controller that comes with the system to operate the rear display screens.

As a safety feature, the front display will not be available while the vehicle is moving and the remote controller cannot be used in the front seat.

To see images, the shift selector must be in the P or Park position and the parking brake applied.

Rear passengers have the option of using wireless headphones that are part of the Theatre Package. On the other hand, you may choose to connect your own wired-headphones by plugging into the headphone jacks located on the back of the center console. Once plugged in, control the volume through the control knob by turning to increase or decrease the volume.

To set up the wireless headphones, first press the switch located on the headphones to the ON position. The power LED will illuminate if the battery is charged.

Check to make sure you have selected the correct display channel. For the left- hand side display, the left-right switch on the headphones should be set to the left. For the right- hand side display, the left-right switch on the headphones should be set to the right.

Use the volume control to keep the sound at a comfortable level.

If there is no sound after four minutes, the headphones will automatically turn-off. In addition, the headphones will turn-off after four hours of continuous use. If the audio is not clear on the headphones, it could be due to interference from another communication device. To resolve the problem, you can turn the volume down or stop using the headphones. The wireless headphone system will function only in the rear seat.

The DVD feature plays much like the ones used in homes. Passengers in the backseat can enjoy this entertainment option when the vehicle is running. However, the vehicle must be in "P" or Park with the parking brake applied for front seat passengers to view the DVD system on the front control panel.

To begin, press the DISC-AUXILIARY button on the display screen until the DVD mode is present.

When a DVD is inserted, the control options will again be displayed on the screen and will automatically turn-off after a short period. To bring up the operation screen again, press the DISC-AUXILIARY button.

The touch screen will allow you select control functions while the DVD is playing without the operation screen being shown.

Alternatively, you may choose to use the Infiniti controller to select an item from the displayed video.

If you would like to use the remote to watch a DVD, start by choosing the display you wish to control. Slide the L-R switch on the remote to L for the left rear display or R for the right rear display.

If you need to pause the DVD, press the pause key.

To resume playing, press the play key.

To stop the DVD, press the stop key.

To skip chapters either forward or backwards, press the double arrow icon in the direction you wish the DVD to go. The chapters will advance forward or backward the number of times the respective key is touched or selected. See your Owner's Manual for a complete list of commands available.

To connect a video game or other auxiliary device, press SOURCE on the remote control and use the directional keys and ENTER button to choose the appropriate source. If "Rear AUX" is the desired source, slide the L-R switch on the remote to L for the left rear display or R for the right rear display.

2013 Infiniti JX - Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Your vehicle is equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). It monitors pressure of all the tires except the spare.

When the low tire pressure warning light is lit and the "Tire Pressure Low -- Add Air" warning appears in the Vehicle Information Display, one or more of your tires is low on pressure and air is needed.

The system also shows the pressure of all tires on the display screen by receiving a signal from a sensor that is installed in each wheel.

The TPMS will activate only when the vehicle is driven at speeds above 16 MPH. Also, this system may not detect a sudden drop in pressure such as a tire blowout.

When adding air to an under-inflated tire, the TPMS with Tire Inflation Indicator provides visual and audible signals outside the vehicle to help you inflate the tires to the recommended COLD tire pressure.

First, be sure to park the vehicle in a safe and level place. Apply the parking brake and place the shift selector to the "P" or Park position.

Place the ignition switch in the ON position, but do not start the engine.

Next add air to the tire. After a few seconds, the hazard indicators will start flashing. When the designated pressure is reached, the horn beeps once and the hazard indicators stop flashing.

You can repeat this procedure for each tire.

2013 Infiniti JX - Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System without Navigation

If you are equipped with the Infiniti Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System without a Navigation System, you can set up the wireless connection between your cellular phone and the in-vehicle phone module. With Bluetooth® wireless technology, you can make or receive a hands-free telephone call with your cellular phone in the vehicle.

To connect your phone with the Infiniti Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System, follow these steps:

Press the phone icon button on the steering wheel. The system announces the available commands.

Next, say, "Connect phone". The system acknowledges the command and announces the next set of available commands.

Say, "Add phone". Your command is acknowledged and asks you to initiate connecting from the phone handset.

The connecting procedure of cellular phones varies according to each cellular phone model. If you go to, you'll find a Compatibility Guide that identifies all brands and models of phones that have been confirmed to be compatible with your vehicle's Bluetooth wireless technology system. If your cellular phone is not listed this does not necessarily mean that it is incompatible, but the website will not be able to offer further assistance for this phone. In this case, please refer to the owner's manual for your cellular phone.

When prompted for a Passkey code, enter "1234" from the handset. The Passkey code "1234" has been assigned by INFINITI and cannot be changed.

The system will then ask you to say a name for the phone.

Once your cellular phone is connected to the in-vehicle phone module, no other phone connecting procedure is required. Your phone is automatically connected with the in-vehicle phone module when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position with the previously connected cellular phone turned on and carried in the vehicle.

You can use the same procedure to connect up to five different cellular phones to your vehicle's Bluetooth.

Here are some helpful tips to get the most out of your Bluetooth system.

Download and follow your phone model's online User's Setup Guide to initiate the system's convenient features, step--by-step.

When using the Bluetooth® system, keep the interior of your vehicle as quiet as possible. Close windows, and direct air vents away from the roof and your face.

Wait until the system tone sounds and the face icon on the display changes before speaking a command.

Start speaking within five seconds after the tone.

Say, "Help" to hear a list of available commands at any time.

Speak in a natural voice without pausing between words.

You can press the VOICE button to skip prompts at any time.
