Just wondering how do you tell if its an AWD or FWD.

I don't think there is a way other than looking at the Vin or underneath the vehicle. I think the difference in the VIN is that AWD has MM in the VIN and FWD's have MN.

Just look under the rear of the vehicle. On an AWD version, you'll see a drive shaft leading to a transaxle on the rear.

Tried to find an underbody picture to show you but wasn't able to find one. Why do you want to know how to tell the difference between the two just from looking at them?

I finally remembered to take a picture of the underside of the JX in our showroom. Here's what to look for on an AWD version. This picture is taken from underneath the rear of the car.

Great picture, thanks. I didn't realize the muffler hung down so low.

You will also see two drive shafts coming off the transaxle. One into each rear wheel.

^Thats the old school way to tell if its a awd drive or not. But it works. The VIN# does make it a whole lot easier though.
