Around the Xenon headlights, there are led type light openings, do these come on or are they for show only?

Does the auto on\off function of the headlights work if the fog lights are set to the on position. On my JX, if I have the headlights in the auto on/off function and the fog light on, the lights do not turn off during the day. The auto on/off function only turns the lights off during the day with the fog lights set to the off position. Can someone please confirm if that is what happens on their JX too.

Those "crystals" around the headlight are just decoration.... As far as the fog lights, when I have them in the on position, they only come on when the lights are set to on, or when it's dark enough in auto. They do not come on separately. As far as auto off, all my lights turn off when the car is turned off when in auto.

My JX fog lights come on and off with auto headlight on and off. No way to turn on ONLY fog lights without headlights as far as I can tell.

You can also set the delay for how long the headlights stay on after exit the vehicle when it's dark. The choices are 0, 30 and 45 seconds.

The ambient light from backside of the front door handles that come on when the doors are unlocked are also very nice. Is that only on our Deluxe Touring? Can someone without that package confirm?

@rockets007 I have the same issue. When in auto light mode and the fog lights left in the ON position, every time the headlights and fog lights turn on regardless of the light sensitivity therefore stay on during the day. When I have the fog lights in the OFF position the AUTO lights work properly. Wonder if there is a setting for the auto lights to work with the fog lights in the ON position? I have all pkgs on the JX.

@F1Racing thanks for confirming the fog light issue, it is kinda annoying! I read through the manual and can't find anything regarding it. Can someone else confirm if their auto head light function works with the fog lights set to the on position?

@JX35MD, I have the premium, theater, and driver assist packages on my JX and have the front door handle ambient light. I guess the the ambient light from backside of the front door handles is not linked to the Deluxe touring package.

That lights on the door are for every JX, even the base model.

I was mistaken. After more careful evaluation in the daylight and in my darker garage, my headlights and fogs work like everyone else posting here.

In daylight with auto headlight and fog on, they both stay on continuously. When the fog is off, auto headlights go on and off with dark and daylight. I think the designers intend for you to leave the headlight in auto all the time, and then just turn the fog on or off manually as desired.

That's different than my 2007 G35 where I leave headlight in auto and fog on all the time. They both switch on and off based on the amount of daylight.

I also notice now that the door handle light comes on just by walking up to within 2-3 feet with your key fob when the doors are locked. You don't need to unlock to activate. If your doors are already unlocked, you need to open the door to activate. I guess that helps when your in a dark place and need to find the door handle to push the button to unlock. However, it is a bit annoying when they come on in my garage as I am just walking by to go elsewhere.

I like the auto light up feature for the door handle light. Very useful when looking for stuff in my garage at night.

That was one of my favorite features on the JX. Something very simple as that is very useful. Since my JX will be parked outside or in an underground parking lot I won't come across that issue you have of walking by it to go elsewhere.

Even if the light turns on when you walk by, it just turns off after a certain amount of time. Isn't bothersome to me. I love the feature.

I previously had the headlamp delay set for 30 seconds, but when i parked the car in garage and walked away, the headlamp would stay on for more than 30seconds and didn't seem to turn off by itself.
Anyone know that if the headlamp delay works only correctly if i have to lock the doors?

I believe you have to lock your doors.

Infiniti light options are restrictive. You cannot turn on/off the fog lights independent of the headlights. Fogs come on, if set to ON, when the headlights are on...and same goes for OFF. Cant wait for someone to figure this out...I like to turn on the fogs, but not the headlights some times; makes the ride look mean going down the streets.

Actually the way JX enforces the headlight must be ON when the fog light can be ON seems normal to me. My BMW works the same way too.
I would guess that such a design might for discouraging drivers to drive with fog light on only without the headlamps.

I just noticed the same auto/foglight issue today with my JX. I don't mind that the foglight can only be activated along with the headlights, but it's ridiculous that the auto-on/off feature doesn't work with foglight enabled, which my EX has no issue with.

On my JX if the foglights are on, the auto headlight function no longer turns the headlights off during the day!
