Forward Colision Warning (FCW) Malfunctioned today.

I was in stop and go traffic for about 15 minutes with FCW doing the braking for me.
Suddenly stopped working and gave me the malfunction warning with a check engine light.

Pulled over and restarted the engine, FCW came back on again. Check engine light is still there. will take to the dealers later on.

Im guessing the FCW gets over heated and stops working.

Another problem is that sometimes all of the nanny features turns off and gives me a (road condition slippery warning)if im on a bumpy road.

Any one else experienced this?

Haven't heard of it but you are right to take it in and get it checked out. Please let us know when you find out what caused it. Just a little clarification... DCA would need to be enabled for the braking in traffic. FCW only brakes when it detects an impending collision, but mostly beeps and flashes a warning if it thinks you are closing too fast on a vehicle.

Yes, I have noticed DCA get cancelled when I hit a very bumpy or slippery patch (I assume VDC and/or ABS kicking in is doing it)
Owner's manual states:
Under the following conditions, the Distance Control Assist system will not operate and the DCA cancellation message will pop up:
● When the SNOW mode switch is ON (To use the DCA system, turn off the SNOW mode switch, then turn on the dynamic driver assistance switch.)
For details about the SNOW mode switch, see “Snow mode switch” in this section.
● When the VDC system is off (To use the DCA system, turn on the VDC, then push the dynamic driver assistance switch.)
For details about the VDC system, see “Ve- hicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system” in this section.
● When ABS or VDC (including the traction control system) is operating

Your JX seems to be running into a few problems (including your headlight issue in another post). I would definitely have the dealer check your entire vehicle to make sure there are no other issues.

Update on the check engine light issue.

Code was for a malfunction in the air sensor.

Will take 3 weeks for the parts to arrive from japan.

Why don't they just send the part from Tennessee, where the JX is made?

They wouldn't want to pull parts from the allocation for final assembly and then have the whole line waiting for a sensor. They'd have to send the whole company on an unpaid leave till the part comes from Japan. :)

Or maybe the sub-assembly is done in Japan.

Or maybe the vendor is in Japan.

Or maybe the Supply Chain Group decided it should be done that way.

Could be a million reasons.

I know this is a year late to your post, but I too am having problems with the FCW warning. And sometimes on bumpy roads, the breaking system fails me completely!

We just had this happen over the weekend. We had nothing on (LDP, BSI, etc) and out of the blue, tons of lights came on the dashboard. They are attached.
I had all the same indicators 2 days in a row on a 4 mile round trip carpool this week. Took the car in with all the warning lights on, left the car running so they could see them (the warning lights reset when the car is turned off). Turns out I have a crack in my master cylinder and it is slowly leaking break fluid (nothing on the garage floor). They topped off the fluid, ordered a part and will call me when it comes in and put me on the schedule. In the mean time, I'll be limiting my driving. I have 21,000 miles.
