I think the JX has some factory installed floor mats in the seating area. I am basing this on the following

In the accessories section of the infiniti jx website it says "Carpeted floor mats - Replaces factory installed floor mats"

Can somebody tell me if the factory installed floor mats are any good? I would prefer to buy some all weather floor mats from Weathertech when they start making them. But if the factory mats are no good, I will have to buy some mats from the dealer.

Thanks.

We ended up buying Infiniti's all weather mats and they are very nice, however we will probably replace the front mats when Weathertech makes them for this vehicle. With the lighter wheat interior, we are hoping Weathertech will make the outside lips so that they cover the plastic entry sills. For now, we have ordered a clear plastic adhesive to cover them. They are already getting scuff marks on them.

Here's what they look like:

Car Vehicle Hood Automotive tire Automotive design
Car Vehicle Automotive design Motor vehicle Car seat cover

The second and third row are nice, because it's one continuous piece of rubber. I like this style better than the weathertech floor liner because the ridges help contain snow and crud during the winter.

You can get them from Sewell Infiniti for $155.... http://infiniti.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Interior/JX-2013/5469.html

The description says front and second row, but when I got them, it contained all 3 rows...

Where can you order the clear plastic adhesive to cover the plastic entry sills? What does it look like?

Ignoring my ignorance, why the factory floor mats are crap? I think they are in par with any other manufacturer.
I've never had factory mats this bad. They are flimsy, thin and feel like they are made out of automotive carpet from wal-mart. Additionally, they have no rubber backing. Every other car I've owned in my life came with factory mats that had rubber backing.....

I have factory rubber mats in front seats, second row, and third row. They're perfect. The front ones could be a bit longer if i have to pick on it but anyway it works. The mats on second row and third row are perfect because they're one piece and feel thick and solid enough and it has all the perfect cuts around the rails (slots) of the seats.
I also have the Infiniti cargo mats... it's great although i wish it would be rubber. It's made of some kind of thinner carpet with rubber backing. Nevertheless, it fits perfectly on cargo and back of third row and can work with third row up or down... so it's still good and the Infiniti emblem on it justifies the price :)

I found some stuff on Amazon that I thought might work. Here is the name: XPEL R3022 60"x2.75" clear universal door sill guard paint protection film kit. It is $16.16 per roll and is under automotive. It is for the paint portion of the sills but I think it may work also for the plastic part of the sill that seems to get marked up by your shoe as you get in. I should have it next week and can let you know what I think after I try it if you want, before you buy it. I figured for the cost of 2 rolls, it would be worth a shot if it works.
