Is there any way to make the car beep instead of honk when you use your key to lock the door? I know the honk can be turned off, but not sure if there is a beep option?

Only way to turn the honk off is disconnect the horn? Not a very good idea. Get an aftermarket alarm, they are usually just beeps.

Aftermarket alarm is the way to go.

Compustar is a good brand to go with, but check with your Infiniti dealership if installing an aftermarket alarm will void your warranty. You might have no choice but to do nothing about it to keep your warranty. Good luck!

Or just put it in silent mode like stated above. I know some BMWs and Lexus have a silent mode. No idea how to access it to turn it on though.

The setting for muting the horn is in the "Vehicle Intelligent Display" and look for "Answerback horn".

I'd have to agree on the aftermarket alarm option too. It's not only beneficial in your case for the horn sounds but for security reasons that you might look in to later on anyways.

So I borrowed a JX with premium from the dealer yesterday, and when I locked/unlocked the car using the button on the door handle it beeped - not honked. Did not try it using the FOB..... so I'm a bit confused when everyone here is saying horn only.

you're right that it beeps when using the door handles to lock/unlock. I'm referring to using the key itself.
