Infiniti adds yet another crossover to its product line with the 2013 Infiniti JX, a seven-passenger luxury crossover. In size, it fits between the slightly smaller FX (which doesn't offer third-row seating) and the larger QX models.

It's about time. For years, buyers looking for a three-row model were simply walking off the lot to their local Acura or Audi dealership to pick up an MDX or Q7.

The JX is all new. The new platform it rides on will eventually underpin the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder later this year. Infiniti has high hopes the JX will overtake the MDX to become the leader in the midsize luxury crossover/SUV segment.

Although Infiniti expects the JX to overtake the MDX in sales, it won't do the same on the road. With only 265 horses under the hood, the 3.5-litre V-6 trails the MDX and Q7 in power. It's lighter than its two main rivals, but the lack of oomph is noticeable. That's not to say the JX is underpowered - it's not - but it just doesn't get the heart racing when the pedal is prodded.

Honestly..... I was pissed that I had to spend so much to get them... But, now, I don't care. It's been pretty warm here thus far, and with a black interior I was worried. But, the AC on the JX is incredibly efficient at cooling the interior thus far, so it hasn't been an issue.
