I just wanted to share our experience. Our instrument cluster failed while driving in an ice storm. After researching this problem, we first removed and re-inserted the Extended Storage Switch (located in the interior fuse box). This allowed partial functioning of the instrument cluster. We were then able to reset the ECU using the steps described here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95WszTnphPI

Steps are:
1) Ignition on, count 3
2) Press and release accelerator pedal, hard and fast, 5 times
3) Count 7, fully depress and hold pedal
4) Count 10, release pedal
5) Count 10, press and hold pedal
6) Count 10, release pedal
7) Turn off ignition, restart engine

Hope this helps someone else.

This helped me tremendously, however, after I performed all these steps, my check engine light came on. It was not on before I performed these steps or before the dash stopped lighting up. How do I get the check engine light off?
