Ask anyone at Infiniti and they'll tell you the new JX35 three-row luxury crossover is poised to become the brand's second best seller overnight.

Sean McNamera, project manager for the JX, will tell you even more forcefully, commenting that until now the Acura MDX has sat as the segment leader by default, compared to vastly more expensive, truck-based German models like the BMW X5 and Audi Q7.

"We have ticked every box possible with this car," he says. "There is no reason anyone should go anywhere but JX at this point."

That's a lot of confidence, even at a PR-spin press intro, but Infiniti has good reason to be optimistic, especially with the MDX growing old in its product cycle.

I agree that this car will be a best seller. My wife and I have ordered one and can't wait until it arrives. It drives like a dream and does everything we wanted in a luxury car. On our test drives, we took the car on freeways, steep hills, and over the dark side of the moon and found it to be a wonderful ride. What is disappointing is that when you research all the main automotive sites like Edmonds, etc., so many idiots are posting their subjective comments on a vehicle they haven't even test driven. We did so much homework on luxury cars, set a budget, and for our needs, the JX EXCEEDED our expectations. I'm hoping Infiniti continues to media blitz to show these donkey's that there is a new luxury crossover in town. Technically, this will be our 7th Nissan product, and we know we will love it.

Infiniti is a brand that prides itself on big wheels and the JX continues that tradition. Infiniti JX is also the first Infiniti to feature a CVT automatic transmission. The Infiniti JX is tuned for comfort and fuel economy, which test drivers complain about, but is something luxury SUV buyers might not mind. The 2013 Infiniti JX35 averaged 11.7L/100km over the course of our test, which is actually pretty good.

I have been in possession of a JX35 since May 13 and I have been very pleased with the vehicle. 5700 miles on it, mostly highway, no issues, . wheat interior is hard to keep clean, have put in infiniti weather mats all around. has help a bunch. gas milage on the hwy has averaged 21.4, in town 19. we drive it very soft, to get best mileage. overall a 9 in my opinion.
